Well we had a wee trip to Hare & Hounds in September nearly a 600 mile round trip for a 3 day show.
The journey down on the Thursday was pretty bad rain from Edinburgh down the a68, stopped driving as the roads were flooded at Jedburgh.
Arrived safely at the show at about 07.00 on the Friday.
Friday was good agility weather and we managed a 3rd in 4/7 agility, wow the competition is much better than in Scottish shows, fast mini cockers and Poodles, Border Terriers.
Sat Jodie managed 2 clears but no places, Sunday was 1 agility clears. Had to miss 2 runs as needed to get back home at a reasonable time on Sunday.
Very good well managed show, banter on the tannoy was brilliant, still running at 18.45 on the Saturday ,and was getting dark pretty quick.
A lot of the judges were new to me, and they put up some very nice courses.

Went to Acts 8/09/12.
Well we got a second place in agility on the Sat.
On the Sunday achieved a 4th place again in agility.
Do not think we will get an agility win.
Weather on Sat was like Gleniffer show hot hot.
Sunday was still warm, but not a lot of sun just good agility weather.

Tuesday, 28 August 2012

Nearly the end of August now and still no agility shows for us since the beginning of June.
Now the weather here has been very wet, just hoping for some sunny warm days so that the ground will dry up for ACTS show on the 8/9th Sept.

With so many agility shows being canx because of ground conditions, I am slightly peed off.
Last show was at beginning of June for us.
Are we going to get our first run in grade 4 or are we doooomed.

East Lothian Show 2012, well had a nice day out at St Andrews and left early to go to Edinburgh, arrived about 07.00 and then the rain came on, it was very heavy.
Wow loads of rain and they made a decision to make an announcment at 09.00 about the show.
Show was canx for today, but also the bypass round Edinburgh was also shut because of flooding.
So took advatage of the bowling club's cafe for a couple of hours before heading back home.
Stopped off at Kinross service station to let dogs have a wee run but the rain was lighter.
Well T IN THE PEE was on, and loads of young people were getting picked up by parents at the service station. Well they were like drookit rats but all were smiling, their mud was a good bit deeper than East Lothians. Took 2 hours just to get out of Edinburgh, washing machine is now filled up and ready to go.

Avon Agility Show 2012

Set off early to miss the heavy traffic.
Set up tent and then went to the New Lanark conservation village, and a walk along the river to the waterfalls.
This is really worth seeing what life was really like in the 18th century.
Jodie was amazing at an Agility run in 33 secs but with 5 faults, but hey ho we got a second place out of it.
We had a very good run in John's class on the Sunday a jumping one this time and won it with a time just over 30 secs.
Imagine getting 2 rossies at one show fandabidozie.
A very happy chappie on the road home.
Should also say about the Avon members, they worked thier socks off all weekend.
Also the judges and scrimers, helpers were terrific as usual, if it wisna for these people, I widna get to play.

Gleniffer Show 2012

Went to Gleniffer show on the Saturday morning had a nice run down in very good sunny weather.
Had 3 runs on the Saturday 2 big Es and 1 with 5 faults in Chris's ring, I should have just taken a little care over that one.
On Sunday just done 2 runs as the last run is usually very late.
Had a really big E in Lynn ring she even had to entice Jodie off the A frame (I was getting my breath back as it was so warm).
In Fiona's ring a jumping course she had the tunnels in a proper place for Jodie, I didna walk it ,so looked at a few dogs going round. Well we set off 1,2, then cloth tunnel a jump then a pipe tunnel another 2 jumps and cloth tunnel again well Jodie was in heaven doing them. The worst bit was the 12 pole weave up a hill towards the finish, I was puffing and panting but made it to the finish. We were last to run and was told we had won it.
Wow out of grade 3 and into grade 4 it only has taken us 4 years.
